Implant Dentistry – Lasting Tooth Replacement with Dental Implants – Brooklyn / Long Island Areas

If you are missing a tooth, or if you have a tooth restoration that won't stay in place, dental implants may be an ideal treatment option for you. Implants replace the root of a missing tooth and anchor dental crowns, bridges, and dentures directly to the jawbone. The result is a slip-free restoration that looks and feels like a natural tooth - a dream come true for those who have lived for years with gaps in their smile or tooth restorations that shift and slip. The practice of Guy Carnazza, D.M.D., provides comprehensive implant dentistry - placement and restoration of dental implants. Our team can help you attain the beautiful, functional smile you deserve.

What Are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is comprised of three parts: a titanium fixture, a custom post, and crown or overdenture. The post is surgically placed in the jawbone, where it replaces the root of the missing tooth. The post rests on top of the gums, where it anchors the crown, bridge, or denture to the implant. Depending on the nature of the mouth we can provide fixed or fixed removable implant options.

Our Implant Dentistry Services

Carnazza Dental Medicine offers comprehensive implant dentistry, including surgical placement of dental implants and the placement of implant-supported restorations. Dr.Carnazza is a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantology. He has performed multiple surgeries and prosthetic rehabiltations to achive these credentials.

Surgical Placement

Implant placement surgery involves placing the titanium post into the jawbone. This actually easier than having a tooth extracted or a root canal(we provide sedation dentistry when appropriate). Once the implant is in place, it is allowed to heal completely (a process that typically requires several months) before the restoration is completed.

Cosmetic Restorations

With proper maintenance, a dental implant can last for life. Cosmetic restorations (maintaining the implant and the restoration) are part of proper implant maintenance. If you have had an implant placed, Dr. Carnazza can provide the treatments necessary to keep your implant-supported restoration in optimal condition.
