February is children’s dental health month. Parents are essential in promoting children’s dental health this month and throughout the year.. Children should keep up with daily oral care and visit the dentist at least two times a year for exam and cleaning. The more time children spend with the dentist and dental professionals the more comfortable they will be when they visit. It is recommended for children to have regular cleanings every six months. If you schedule an appointment in February you can schedule the second visit in August right before they go back to school. Get your kids excited about their regular hygiene routine by letting them pick out their toothbrushes with their favorite characters. toothbrushes should be replaced every 3 to 4 months. If your child usually brushes without supervision, take time this month to check-in on their brushing technique and habits. This will let you offer any helpful tips and tricks that will keep their teeth looking great and healthy. I remember the days of getting my kids to brush wasn’t so easy. The more of a routine it becomes and if done with a parent it gets easier.
